7 Awesome Worship Songs About Victory In Jesus

It’s important as Christians to remember that we aren’t living for victory but from victory. Victory found only through Jesus Christ.

After coming to Christ it can be easy at first to slip back into defeat. We all at one time lived as the world lives. We all know what it feels like to feel low and completely defeated.

It’s important to realize that if we are in Christ we are also alive in Him through His victory.  We are no longer enslaved to the world and the defeat that tags along with it.

As we grow in our relationship with Jesus we not only grow spiritually but we grow in our wisdom and understanding. This includes our understanding of the fullness of our salvation through His death on the cross.

Worship is an amazing way not only for us to connect with our Lord and savior but also a great way for us to reflect on the truth of His word. “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57

7 Awesome Worship Songs About Victory In Jesus

1. My victory – Crowder

Jesus’ death on the cross means a lot more than just a ticket to heaven. Jesus said in John chapter 10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

When we believe in Him we are transformed into a new creation. We are changed from a life of defeat to a life of victory in Jesus name.

This song brings to mind what Joseph said in Genesis chapter 50, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

The cross meant to kill was my victory!

2. Overcome – Elevation Worship

Not only did Jesus die on the cross to be an atoning sacrifice for our sins but he also rose from the grave to overcome death.

We too through life in Him have overcome death and are looking forward to eternal life. Not only has death been overcome in His name but so has our defeat.

When we turn toward Jesus we become transformed from the inside out. This change not only brings new life but freedom from the old life and victory in His name.

3.Chain Breaker – Zach Williams

When the Jews in John Chapter 8 say to Jesus, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” He responds with, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.

We have all experienced the bondage of our sin. Even if we didn’t realize its hold on our lives at the time we can see it now. How it influenced the decisions we made and the way we treated other people.

Jesus continues in John chapter 8 by saying, Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Sin has a tight controlling hold over our lives when we live in it but when we turn from it, repent, and turn to Jesus we will be free indeed.

“He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.” Psalm 107:14

4. Glory To Glory – Bethel Music

Victory in Jesus Christ is eternal and it starts now. The moment you come to Jesus is the moment your life will never be the same.

“But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

The awesome truth of the gospel isn’t about how  God wants to “change” us or “fix” us it’s all about how he wants to transform us. Day by day as we walk in his glorious light we become more and more like his son until that glorious day when Jesus returns and when we see Him we’ll be like Him.

5. Unstoppable God – Elevation Worship

Victory is not only eternal but it can not be taken from us because it doesn’t come from ourselves. We are saved by grace through faith and this is not from ourselves it is the gift of God.

God is for us, that is why he sent His one and only son into the world to die for us. Paul puts it plainly yet perfectly in Romans 8:31, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

We can have confidence in our salvation and in our victory in Jesus Christ. Gone are the days of allowing the world and the different seasons of life to affect our security and hope.

When we put our trust in God we find our hope in Him and He will never leave us nor forsake us.

6. Lion and The Lamb – Big Daddy Weave

Before Jesus died he said “it is finished” which meant the debt had been paid for all of our iniquities. But though the debt was paid Jesus wasn’t finished, he rose from the grave and now sits at the right hand of God high above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

Jesus is coming back and when he comes on that glorious day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that he is Lord! Until that day He is fighting our battles as we follow the guidance of his spirit through this world.

7. Rescuer – The Rend Collective

The good news of Jesus Christ isn’t something we should keep to ourselves. He has rescued us and delivered us and that is something to be celebrated and shared.

We live in a world that is covered in darkness, fear, and suffering, and we have the only answer. We need to share the good news of our victory with everyone we meet!

You never know when you might come across someone who has never even heard the gospel. The best thing we can do is to be a living example of victory in Jesus Christ!

These are just a few of my favorite worship songs that help me reflect on my victory in Jesus Christ. As we lift his name in worship it’s important to set our minds and hearts on him as we praise his name.

He is the reason for our victory and deliverance and in Him is life. Without Jesus, we might experience momentary victories but like everything else, the world has to offer it quickly fades and never satisfies. Jesus said “whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Victory in Jesus never fades or loses its power it just keeps getting better and better as we become transformed by His grace.

Also, we just launched a brand new church in our home! Jesus said in John chapter 4, “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.” Check out our most recent sermon below and worship Him through receiving the truth of His word!
